Book my holidays! Book my holidays! Every two years, in spring, since 1998, Saint-Etienne hosts the International Design Biennial. The Biennial is organised by the Saint-Etienne Regional School of Fine Arts, and produced and managed the Cite du Design Centre. This event aims to make contemporary design accessible to a large audience. Each edition focuses on a different theme, such as the changing nature of employment, the feeling of beauty, or empathy, or the experience that the other person has. Each theme offers a chance to portray a picture of the world we live in and provide a unique perspective of the changes it brings. For one month, there are numerous exhibitions, conferences, seminars and workshops at the city's venues. The Saint-Etienne Design Biennial attracts more than 200,000 visitors every year.
