This BSc Medical Sciences with Anaesthesia & Critical Care will allow you to address some of the major issues in Intensive Care & Anaesthesia within some the most active research departments in the U.K. The first module will examine the mechanisms that both anaesthesia, and critical illness cause profound changes in physiology. You will also explore how the immune system drives these changes. You will examine how current standards and guidelines for peri-operative care and critical illness relate to our scientific knowledge.
The second module is devoted to the basics of research and the skills needed to conduct research. The specialisation-specific knowledge is the vehicle to practice these skills and gain an in-depth understanding of a specific area.
