The Ohio Pen Show will feature my hands-on workshop for nib smoothing. I'll be working with participants directly, and with the help of Linda Kennedy, resident pen technician at Indy-Pen-Dance, and Brian Gray founder and president, Edison Pen Company.
The workshop will start promptly at TBD, 8:30 am. During this two-hour intensive session, I'll teach you how I smooth out nibs and make some basic adjustments with the tools and techniques I developed over more than 20 years experience. You will not be a nibmaster at the end of this session. But you will learn a lot, and I hope you have a great time.
There will be 16 participants. Participants must register ahead of time. The materials fee of $00.00 will cover all the supplies, tools and pens that you will need. Bring a hand loupe that is not lighted. I recommend buying a 10x loupe of high quality, such as the BelOMO Triplet, which is available on Amazon, eBay and other online dealers. Cheap loupes are often of poor quality, with shoddy optics and poor construction. The materials kit contains two practice pens similar to the ones shown. Do not bring your own pen to the workshop if you expect to use it. You will be able to keep the materials after the workshop so you can practice at home. When you checkout through PayPal, be sure to include both your name and "shipping" address! You won't receive anything in the mail, but your information is needed to compile a list of participants.
