XXVII International Architectural Festival "Zodchestvo"
The XXVIIth International Architectural Festival "Zodchestvo", which took place on October 17 at 12 noon, was inaugurated in Gostiny Dvor. The event took place from October 17-19, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Government of Moscow. Organiser is the Union of Architects of Russia. The annual "Zodchestvo", an international architectural festival that takes place within the frameworks of the Festival, is a showcase of the best achievements in architecture and urban planning. The competition program includes not only young architects, design studios, workshops, and bureaus but also students from architectural faculties and universities, children's art and architecture groups, and entire Russian cities.
Nikolai Shumakov was the speaker for the opening: "It has been a year since the XXVI Festival "Zodchestvo". We finally met again at the one of few professional festivals where it's always a pleasure to chat and meet. We have an extensive business and exhibition programme this year, and the festival curators have also put together a really interesting material presentation. At "Zodchestvo'19", 40 regions from Russia are represented, 16 of them with stands. Our festival attracted 28 thousand visitors last year - this year I hope we can easily exceed this number. "I wish everyone happiness, transparency and a good life.".
Sergey Kuznetsov, Chief Architect for Moscow, said during the festival's opening: "I am grateful to the Union which, despite all the difficulties, has done a fantastic job organizing this event. As a representative for the city of Moscow's Committee for Architecture and Urban Planning also takes part in this festival with their ideas and a desire to demonstrate themselves. "I invite you to our booth dedicated to the timely topic this year of a careful attitude towards historical objects without status but no less valuable because they are.".
