SNAP, also known as food stamps or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance (SNAP), helps those with low incomes buy food. The benefits are delivered on an electronic card, which can be used as an ATM card at supermarkets and grocery stores.

The minimum amount of purchases that can be made in a store to receive the SNAP benefit is not allowed.

To determine if you qualify for SNAP, you must submit a SNAP Application Form and supporting documents to Human Resources Administration (HRA). You can get assistance with your application at a SNAP Center, or through a Community Based Organization that is participating.
