Our international celebration takes place in London's beautiful downtown every last weekend of September to celebrate the heritage and legacy of chickens. This is one of Kentucky's biggest festivals, with four days filled with "egg-citement", entertainment and fun. This festival features the World's Largest Stainless Steel Skillet, as well as over three decades of family entertainment including crazy contests and free music entertainment. Vendors from across the nation, carnival rides, delicious food from non profit organizations, and vendors from all over the country are also included. Over 50+ local charities benefit from the festival.

Colonel Harland Sanders is a well-known figure in the world. He founded Kentucky Fried Chicken. Laurel County in Kentucky, situated in the Daniel Boone National Forest in the heart, is proud to honour the legacy of Sanders Cafe and Musuem, the Colonel's original restaurant, established in the 1940s. Lee Cummings began his career with Colonel Sanders in 1952. The Annual World Chicken Festival pays tribute to the chicken heritage.
