The Kentucky Wool Festival takes place on the first weekend in October, in a beautiful location near the Kincaid Lake State Park. It is located in Falmouth. Southern Living Magazine featured one of the most important fall events in the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area. It was named as one of the top 10 wool festivals in the nation. The Kentucky Wool Festival focuses on both the fall harvest and sheep shearing. The festival includes a petting zoo for children and a fair with over 100 arts and craft vendors. Live bluegrass music is featured, as are historical reenactments, shearing demos, displays of local farm products, and more. The festival is known for its food: barbecue, chilli, corn on cob, homemade chocolate fudge and more.
