The IICA can help you with three different areas of continuous education:.

This course focuses on the steps you must take to meet the functional safety standard AS IEC 601511 Ed. 2. This book provides a detailed understanding and fundamental understanding of functional security concepts, industry standards, and the methods used to determine and implement safety integrity levels (SILs), in safety instrumented system (SISs) used in process industries.

This course is not for new graduates or those with little experience. This course does NOT provide training on standards.

The course's primary goal is to provide all participants with an understanding of AS IEC 61512 so that they are able to understand and participate in the lifecycle activities pertinent to their role. The course, including the successful completion of an examination, is not meant to be sufficient for successful candidates to manage lifecycle activities without supervision. However it can provide the foundation to develop into these roles for individuals who already have sufficient experience. Participants will be able:.
