The moment I walked into Thursday's Phenomenal Woman Awards reception, I knew that Chicago's 27th Annual Black Women's Expo would be special. I can't express enough gratitude for all the support and encouragement that was shown throughout this huge undertaking, which we affectionately refer to as "BWe Next!".

We are grateful to all our sponsors, performers, panelists and exhibitors. I am also thankful for my amazing team and each attendee who brought life to our celebration of Black women! Her legacy will continue because of you!

I took a few minutes to visit the vendors and take part in panel discussions. The main stage was full of entertainment. I couldn't help but think, "WOW! We DID IT!

My sister is sure to be smiling at our sincere effort and the excellent execution. Ruby, it was possible!
