We are grateful that you have chosen to perform at the New York International Music Festival "Sounds of Summer". We strive to give the best possible performance experience to all of our fine musical ensembles.

Our mission is to provide young musicians an opportunity for musical development while creating lasting memories. The festival has chosen the prestigious Carnegie Hall as the venue for its performances to enhance the experience. The festival's admission is only based on auditions and there is a limit of four ensembles that can perform at Carnegie Hall for a total of 30 minutes each. We encourage groups with a wide range of abilities to apply, as live performances can benefit students at all stages of development.

Ensembles: Community and high school bands, orchestras and college bands.

Acceptance: To ensure quality, the festival limits its participation to four ensembles of instrumental music. The following year, groups that were denied entry due to festival capacity restrictions will receive first priority.

VENUES : Carnegie Hall, Outdoor venue like the Central Park Bandshell, or Castle Clinton in Battery Park.

FACULTY Past faculty includes Dr. James Jordan, Rider University; Dr. Heather Buchannan, Montclair State University; Johan de Meij and Brian Worsdale, Manhattan School of Music. Dr. Dennis Johnson, Professor Emeritus, Murray State University.
