Early December saw the first DMP held at Dongguan Gymnasium, which was 4000 sqm in size. There was no standard exhibition space in Dongguan at that time. Although the scale of the exhibition was small, it had good results.

DMP was relocated to the newly constructed Dongguan International Convention and Exhibition Center. The exhibition expanded to 16,000 square meters.

The GD Modern International Exhibition Center in Houjie (Dongguan) is now complete. DMP has been moved to the new center, and its size increased to 21,309 square meters.

DMP's exhibition grows 30%-40% every year. In 2006, DMP exhibition covered 73,342 square meters.

The scale of the show was also affected by the global financial crises. In 2008 and 2009, the scale of the show was 57,000 sqm.

The scale of DMP has reached a new height with the recovery of global economies and the rapid growth of China's economy. In 2014, DMP's scale reached 85,000 sqm.

The Guangdong International Robot and Intelligent Equipment Expo was also held on the same day, and it was hosted by the People's Government of Dongguan City, and organized by the Dongguan Industrial & Information Technology Bureau and Paper Communication Exhibition Services.
