Paasitorni, or the Helsinki Workers' House is a congress and conference centre that has exceptional architectural and cultural heritage.

In the beginning, the Helsinki Workers' Association had Herman Gesellius and Armas Lindgren as architects to design its building. Their plans were not implemented. Karl Lindahl, Max Frelander and Max Frelander won an open architectural competition in 1906.

The building's simple, castle-like shape indicates that it is a departure from National Romanticism's many forms. The contrast to the granite-strewn exteriors on the site are the lavish and ornate interiors. The assembly hall, main staircase, and downstairs restaurant are the most important interiors.

The house was damaged by artillery fire during the Finnish Civil War of 1918. Karl Lindahl built a granite-clad annex at the corner of Paasivuorenkatu and it was completed in 1925.

In the mid-1990s the decision was taken to commence restoring Paasitorni’s premises in keeping with the architect’s original plans. The premises were skilfully restored between 1996 and 2007. In 2012, an annex to the complex, Hotel Paasitorni with adjacent congress spaces, was built in the inner courtyard by K2S Architects. Today, in addition to the hotel, Paasitorni houses almost 30 spaces for meetings and events and a total of four restaurants.
