Cracow University of Technology is a public university that was founded in 1945. It has 76 years of history. Our patron has been Tadeusz Kosciuszko for more than 30 years. He was both a national hero in Poland and the United States of America. However, he was also an engineer, builder and architect, responsible for the fortifications at Cracow and West Point fort in the United States. His name serves as a reminder about our responsibility to respect tradition and the achievements of our academic ancestors. It also highlights our reliability in giving access to knowledge and encouraging new ideas.
Cracow University of Technology comprises 8 faculties with 30 majors of study accredited by the Polish Accreditation Committee (http://www.pka.edu.pl/en/). The European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education also accredits majors taught at the Faculty of Civil Engineering as well as the Faculty of Architecture. The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), which has accredited the majors in Architecture and Landscape Architecture, earned accreditation by the International Federation of Landscape Architects Europe (IFLA). The European Commission awarded Cracow University of Technology the Logo Human Resources Excellence in Research.
