It is used primarily for football matches. It can hold up to 14,700 people. The stadium was constructed in 1995. In 2000, it was renovated to include business lodges, conference rooms, a restaurant and a support bar.

The new stadium was built on the same site as the Gemeentelijk Sportpark Tilburg. It had a smaller capacity and provided fewer facilities. The stadium was destroyed in 1992. The current stadium was opened in 1995. [1] Since 1995, the stadium has been occupied by Tenants Willem II Tilburg.

The original name of the stadium was Willem II Stadion. However, Koning (\"King\") Willem II Stadion was given to the stadium in 2009. This was in honor William II of the Netherlands.
