CWI celebrates this year! The institute was founded 75 years ago. The institute is a leader in cutting-edge research. It was the birthplace for the open Internet in Europe, Dijkstra's shortest path algorithm, Python, and many other innovations.

Marten van Dijk (CWI), is named endowed professor in Secure and Intelligent Computing, VU Amsterdam. This chair is part of VU Faculty of Science's Computer Science department.
