The unicameral legislature of Catalonia, Spain, is called the Parliament of Catalonia (Catalan, Parlament de Catalunya; Spanish, Parlamento de Cataluna). The Parliament is currently made up of 135 members, known as deputies (diputats/deputats/diputados), who are elected for four-year terms or after extraordinary dissolution, chosen by universal suffrage in lists of four constituencies, corresponding to the Catalan provinces. Ciutadella Park is where the Parliament building is found.

It was established in 1932 after Catalonia's self-government was granted by the Second Spanish Republic. However, the Spanish Civil War resulted in its exile in 1939. It was restored in 1979, during the transition to democracy. On 14 February 2021, the most recent general elections to the Parliament were held.

The Comital Court (Catalan : Cort Comtal), of Barcelona was the first representative and legislative body in Catalonia. It modelled after the Frankish curia Regis and the Peace and Truce of God Assemblies, (Assemblees de Pau i Treva), whose earliest record dates back to 1027. These were initially ad-hoc meetings that were convened locally by clergy (Oliba Bishop of Vic died in 1046 and was a prominent instigator), but they gradually became part of the court of the Barcelona Counts. Based on these decisions, Count Ramon Berenguer II promulgated the first Catalan legal code: the Usatges de Barcelona.
