Palazzo Lombardia (\"Lombardy Palace\"), a complex of buildings located in Milan, Italy. It includes a 43-storey skyscraper that is 161 m tall (528 ft).It is located north-west from the city centre in the Centro Direzionale di Milano (CBD), the central business district.
It was first inaugurated on 22 January 2010, and officially completed on 21 March 2010. After its completion, the Regione Lombardia skyscraper was briefly the tallest skyscraper both in Milan and in Italy, being taller than both the Telecom Italia Tower in Naples and the Pirelli Tower in Milan. It lost its supremacy to the Unicredit Tower (also located in Milan) in 2011.
The architectural firm Pei Cobb Freed & Partners designed Palazzo Lombardia, which was the winner of an international design contest in 2004. Henry N. Cobb was the design partner. [5] The 2012 International Architecture Award was won for the best global design. [6]
