Thyagaraj Sport Complex, a sports complex in New Delhi, India is called. It is owned and operated by the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi. The stadium was built entirely from scratch at a cost of Rs300 Crore (US$39 Million). It was designed by PTM of Australia, Kapoor & Associates from Delhi. [1] It was designed to host the 2010 Commonwealth Games and was named after Tyagaraja, a Telugu composer. [2]

The Thyagaraj Sports Complex was built specifically for the Delhi 2010 Netball competition. The Stadium was inaugurated by Mrs. Sheila Dikshit (Chief Minister of Dehi), on 2 April 2010. It is India's first netball stadium. It is named after Thyagaraj, an 18th-century south Indian poet-composer (4 May 1767 – 6 January 1847).

Thyagaraj Stadium covers 16.5 acres (6.7ha) and has a capacity for 5,883 people. It was constructed using green technologies, such as fly ash bricks. Water management systems will be featured in the stadium, including rainwater harvesting, sewage treatment with an output of 200,000 litres (or 53,000 US gals) per day, dual flush systems, and sensor-based faucets. The emphasis is on native species and reducing soil toxicity when landscaping.

This is India's first ever model Green Venue, built using the most advanced green building technologies. The stadium is equipped with an R.C.C. The stadium has a steel roof and flooring made from granite, epoxy, PVC, carpets and carpets. In the stadium's central arena, maple wood flooring is used. The Thyagaraj Stadium will set a new standard in terms of power efficiency. Solar energy will provide lighting. Building-integrated photovoltaic cell will also allow the stadium to supply electricity to the grid. To provide emergency electricity to the Stadium, the Complex also has a Dual Fuel Gas Turbine with a capacity of 2.5 megawatt-hours (9.0GJ) and a 9.0 GJ. The Indian Green Building Council awarded this Sport Complex a Gold rating for its Green Features[3].
