The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, (MCEC), was built on the banks the Birrarung (Yarra River). It acknowledges the Traditional Owners and the Boon Wurrung and Wurundjeri Würrung peoples of the Kulin nation.
We offer our condolences to their Elders, past and present, as well as to all Elders from First Nations communities who visit MCEC.
We recognize the importance of the Birrarung for Traditional Owners as a source of life and a place to meet, and we seek to honor a 40,000-year tradition of building community on these lands and exchanging ideas.
