The Carlson Center, a 4,595-seat entertainment and sports venue that can also be used as a meeting place, is also a community center that offers programming for all ages.

The Carlson Center was inaugurated on June 13, 1990. It is named after John A. Carlson (1920-1988), Fairbanks North Star Borough Mayor 1968-82.

It is the largest entertainment, sports, and meeting venue in Interior Alaska. Many events are held there, including tradeshows and concerts, small meetings, conventions and receptions.
