Open space areas are designed to be viewed from the front of buildings. It is a place for special events and a relaxing stroll along the water.
This park is located north of Shoreline Drive between Shoreline Village Drive & Linden Avenue. It was once Rainbow Lagoon by Auditorium Park. The lagoon was then filled with water for the Long Beach Arena. Rainbow Lagoon was designed in traditional Japanese style, with two connected islands. The surrounding park has high-arched \"rainbow bridges\". The turf is accented with trees. The Hyatt Hotel constructed its pool deck at the Lagoon edge. Rainbow Lagoon is filled by seawater and maintained at park level above sea level through pumps. In 2004, the tide gates and pumps were replaced.
