Yesterday wasn't the Turnaround Tuesday traders had hoped for. The S&P 500 fell 2.5% from its intraday high after an unsuccessful rally attempt. After briefly falling below the June lows, the index managed to rebound to the close. However, it ended only slightly lower. As yields continued to rise, it was a bad night for Asia. Bloomberg also reported that Apple (3%) has stopped plans to increase production, which had a negative impact on suppliers. This led to a drop of 1.5% in South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Hong Kong, and China. S&P futures fell 0.5% at their lowest point, but recovered quickly around 6:00 after the Bank of England announced that it would start purchasing UK bonds with a long maturity to correct market turmoils.
