All-solid state batteries are secondary batteries in which an electrolyte solid is used instead of the traditional "electrolyte" (organic solvent). Lithium ions-based all-solid state batteries have attracted a lot of attention. This paper describes the characteristics of all solid-state battery and how to efficiently design and manufacture high-performance, all-solid state batteries using powder process.
We are developing a small solid-state battery that uses a solid electrolyte based on sulfide. The battery is being developed to have high heat resistance, and a long lifespan. This lecture will cover the unique characteristics of solid-state batteries, their development, and how to produce them in mass quantities.
The research on the next generation of storage batteries is progressing. Solid-state battery technology is gaining the most attention. We will present the fabrication of small battery using LLZO (an oxide-based solid electrodelyte) and the possibility of larger batteries using composites electrolytes. We will compare all-solid state batteries with semi-solid state batteries to explain how the ion and electron conduction pathways within the positive electrode layers affect battery characteristics.
