Thinkers, urban stakeholders, and innovators from around the world are gathering in London to discuss our future cities during a climate emergency, and define the steps we need to take towards creating more eco-friendly cities.
Global cities play a major role in combating climate change and environmental problems. London has demonstrated its leadership in committing to the Green New Deal, which will help London become a greener and more fair city - creating jobs and skills for Londoners as well as ensuring London is a net-zero-carbon city by 2020 and a waste-free city by 2050. London will host its first Ecocity World Summit since 2004. The aim is to make 2023's edition the most influential yet. As one of the Top 10 Sustainable cities in the world, London provides a range of inspiring Ecocity principles in action, from sustainability-focussed developments and outstanding transport infrastructure to historical sites and attractions for delegates to visit. The summit, which is set against the backdrop of the London Festival of Architecture in June, brings together influential figures to discuss topics such as city planning, sustainable development, and urban lifestyles.
