Tyler is home to a variety of attractions that are open to residents and visitors all year round. Tyler's East Texas State Fair is a highlight of early autumn. About 250,000 people visit the fair on average each year.
The 10-day East Texas State Fair of 2023 was held between September 22 and October 1, 2023.
The fair includes food, carnival rides and live concerts. It also features a horticulture exhibition, an art show, a livestock competition, a photography contest, Senior Day as well as dozens of other activities.
The East Texas State Fair was organized solely for charitable and education purposes. It is an annual event that promotes education, entertainment, and competition. The Fair is dedicated to preserving agricultural heritage, families and community service. The Fair's mission is to also create commerce in Tyler and Smith County, by providing venues that others can use and attracting participants to the complex. Since 1992, the East Texas State Fair offers $413,000 worth of scholarships.
The Fairgrounds are located at 2112 West Front Street (Texas Highway 31), between downtown Tyler, and Loop 323 West. They are adjacent to the Tyler Rose Garden, and the W.T. Brookshire Conference Center. Phone: 903-597-2501.
