Islam is one of the world's three major religions
Islam is one of the world's three major religions, advocating peace, mercy, and forgiveness. The number of followers of Islam (Muslims) worldwide is estimated to exceed 1.6 billion. In Taiwan, about half a million Muslims live there, in addition to the 50, 000 local Muslims, plus long-term residents (such as immigrants, workers) and short-term travelers.
Muslim pursues "the Koran" (Quran) and prophetic hadith "holy example" (al-hadith), all repeated emphasis on food forbidden, prohibit followers to eat blood, pork, and without sharia-compliant (Sharia Law) slaughter of animals, such as food, in conformity with the Law standard is called "? ? an ? (Halal)", meaning "legal", "allowed", in Chinese called "Halal" ─ means "clean without dying, there's only one".
Representing the value of Islamic belief, halal certification stands for "safety" and "cleanliness".
In Muslim countries, "halal" food in addition to the specification, but also the sum of lifestyles, such as clothing, beauty, the financial, catering, tourism, and electronic commerce, etc., are issued by Islamic characteristics of special economic development model, especially in the rise of middle class of the asean countries, such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei and Singapore total more than 240 million Muslim population, demographic dividend to bring enormous business opportunities, to Taiwan and other northeast Asian and Muslim countries, actively develop the halal industry.

With support from the ministry of economic affairs of international trade, foreign trade association was established in April 2017 to promote "Taiwan Halal (Taiwan Halal Center)", promoting Muslim Halal industry, and build a friendly environment and invite buyers to purchase, Muslims around the world rapidly accumulating Halal industry energy, enhance the trust and understanding of the world's Muslim Halal industry in Taiwan.
"HALAL TAIWAN" will be held in conjunction with the food exhibition
"HALAL TAIWAN" will be held in conjunction with the food exhibition, food processing equipment & biotechnology/pharmaceutical machinery exhibition, packaging industry exhibition and restaurant & catering equipment & supplies exhibition. HALAL TAIWAN has become an important platform for domestic and foreign manufacturers to promote HALAL products and enter the market of TAIWAN and Muslims. HALAL products and service providers are welcome to participate in the exhibition to show the global competitiveness of TAIWAN's HALAL industry.
