Salone del Mobile. Milano Shanghai is an international benchmark for creativity and design, and an unparalleled showcase for Made in Italy products and the Italian Way of Living in Shanghai. This is a “special” edition brought to the Chinese market by the international platform for the furnishing that is the Salone del Mobile. Milano, showcasing a selection of top Italian companies, representing the pinnacle of Made in Italy and top quality manufacturing.
It made its debut in 2016
It made its debut in 2016 at the SEC – Shanghai Exhibition Center providing a unique experience, with an exhibition designed to introduce the Chinese visitors to the beauty, the quality, the luxury and the elegance of the Italian Way of Living. The Salone del Mobile. Milano Shanghai promises three days of design and luxury furniture, in the same style categories as those showcased in Milan:
- Design – products embodying functionality, innovation and great looks.
- XLux/Classico – products that marry classic elegance and contemporary design.
In the same year, SaloneSatellite Shanghai made its debut as well to feature young Chinese designers under 35. The top three, chosen by a jury of sectoral professionals, receive SaloneSatellite Shanghai Awards and an invitation to take part in the following edition of SaloneSatellite in Milan.
The exhibition’s program includes a number of opportunities for listening and exchange with the Master Classes, an event consolidated by the Salone del Mobile. Milano, in which leading Italian and international architects share with the public their thoughts and views on hot topics concerning the development of the sector in China and in the world.

Every year, the organisers of the Salone – Federlegno Arredo Eventi in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency ICE, the government body that promotes the economic and commercial development of Italian companies abroad and works to attract foreign investment in Italy, and its Chinese partner VNU Exhibitions Asia – set great store by the quality of potential visitors who come from China’s top tier regions – Shanghai, Beijing and Guangdong – and from those in the throes of strong growth – such as Sichuan, Fujian, Shandong, Henan and Hubei – providing increased potential for concrete business opportunities for the exhibitors and an extraordinary platform for increased visibility and success on the Chinese market, the largest and fastest-growing market in the world.

New prototypes for the home and office: furniture, furnishings, and lighting designed and produced by persons involved in the industry, such as industrial design studios, students of industrial design, designers, architects; no manufacturers, whether industrial or artisan, will be admitted.
