Detroit is where you will meet when you meet. Our people will allow you to get to know them, to experience our unique culture, and to see our commitment to sustainability. With 50,000 Black businesses, we are proud to be the largest Black-majority community in the country. We are also proud to be home to thriving Latino and Arab American communities. We are proud to share our stories and how we do it. Supporting local businesses helps grow our communities. It also allows you to meet and support the people who live and/or work in these areas. You leave Detroit a better individual and a better place. Huntington Place is America's 17th largest convention centre. It was built by the City of Detroit and named Cobo Hall after former Detroit Mayor Albert E. Cobo (1950-1957). The state of Michigan established the Detroit Regional Convention Facility Authority in 2009 and leased the facility to the City of Detroit for 33 years.
