Post-frame construction, an engineered wood frame building system, meets UBC/IBC standards. Large, solid-sawn posts and laminated columns are used in post-frame buildings instead of concrete masonry, steel framing or wood studs. These structures transfer loads to the ground, or are surface-mounted to concrete piers or masonry foundations. They may also use plastic barrier systems to enhance protection of concrete posts and piers.
The NFBA is a trade association for the post-frame industry that promotes the interests and benefits of its members. Its members include post-frame builders, suppliers and manufacturers, as well as code and design professionals and structural engineers.
