The Smithsonian Folklife Festival 2024 will take place in Washington, D.C., on the National Mall, between June 26-30 and from July 3-7, under the program Indigenous Voices of the Americas - Celebrating the National Museum of the American Indian.
The Smithsonian Folklife Festival, which began in 1967, has been welcoming visitors and participants from all over the United States to Washington, D.C. The event is held annually during the two-week period around the Fourth of Independence holiday. All of our events are free.

In late spring, a schedule of daily activities will be made available on the internet. The Festival is two weeks long, and many of the events are repeated.
The summers in Washington, D.C. can be hot and humid. Come prepared with light clothing, a hat, sunscreen and a water bottle.
