Malaysia International Machinery Fair (MIMF), was held for the first time in 1989 at Stadium Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur. It featured only 50 booths that served the local market. Over the years, MIMF evolved into Packaging & Food Processing Exhibition, M'SIA - FOODPRO, Plastic,Mould & Tools Exhibition, M'SIA - PLAS, Lighting, LED & Sign Exhibition (MSIA-LIGHTING, SIGN), and Bakery Exhibition (MSIA-BAKERY), becoming the most important industry trade fair in Malaysia.

MIMF 2022 will move forward with digitalisation in order to better serve local and international industry players. It will also continue to serve as an important platform to showcase the most recent technologies during the exhibition.

MIMF 2022 will grow stronger and more successful every year with the support of industry players.

According to the Department of Statistics, Malaysia boasts more than 2,000 companies that are involved in the food processing sector. The majority of these are Small & Medium Enterprises. This sector accounts for 10% of Malaysia's manufacturing output. In 2019, processed foods accounted for around RM 21.76billion and were exported to more 200 countries. With the increasing demand for F&B equipment and machinery, the market is expanding. Consumers are looking for better quality and higher standards to meet their growing export requirements. This is due to Malaysia's position as the global market leader in HALAL food production.
