Not that impressed with this property, the first room we were given was a smoking room, it smelt heavly of cigerette smoke, the room it'self wasn't in great condition, some furniture was worn out, we requested to be moved as we had made a request for a non smoking room/floor, reception insisted that they didn't have any non smoking rooms available but they can give us one tomorrow, thankfully another staff member stepped in a found us a non smoking room. The room it'self was clean, a little worn in places, had all the usual things - jug, mini bar, hair dryer etc. and of average size The location of the hotel isn't that good either, the metro station is 10mins walk from the hotel, taking a taxi was the most convient way to get around, but the traffic in Guangzhou is insane at certain times of the day. The breakfast room was horrible, it was enclosed and small, the food was very average. There were no smoke free areas either, nothing worse than have second hand smoke with your brekkie. We have stayed at three different propertys in Guangzhou over the years and this one would rate that the bottom. My pick would be the Star Hotel for location with a good breakfast and large size rooms. Staff were good and freindly, and spoke good english. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

I've been to Guangzhou lots of times already for all my business trips, and I always love to stay at the Rosedale Hotel in Guangzhou because of it's vicinity to the Canton Fair and the factories I go to. The facilities are way better compared to other hotels in the area. There's free broadband internet in every room, buffet breakfast is great, and there are lots of restaurant and shopping choices. They also have foreign staff that can speak english very well. But during my last trip, the A/C in my room was acting up. The weather outside was 100 deg, but their A/C is not as cool as it should be. My first night was very uncomfortable. I asked to be transferred to another room for the second night because of this, and they gave me one of their newly renovated Rosedale Rooms (usually more expensive, but they gave it to me at the same rate as a regular room). The A/C was a bit better, but still not cool enough to be comfortable. Found out that this was a hotel-wide problem, and that they are fixing it already. Hope they solve this soon before my next Guangzhou trip.

Stayed here for 2 nights for the Canton fair, large room which was clean and tidy. Hotel laid on a bus service to and from the trade show which was a nice touch given the exorbitant price of staying here. Hotel prices are 2 to 3 times higher during the trade shows Spent most of the time at the trade show so did not venture around the city so cannot comment on location to the sites of Guangzhou. Business partner ate at the chinese restaurant in the hotel and had nothing good to say about it. Overall this hotel suited my needs but did not stand out from any other hotel
