Atfer my friends' recommend, I choose this hotel, the price is fair since the location is excellent.Compare to president I stayed before, majestic is better service and more friendly guys, especiall the western restaraunt at the top of the hotel, its more than 30 floor, good view, it's cool. There is a cinema and big shopping center lies beside the lobby, it's convenient. Also the MTR is at the foot. It's worthy.

Hello fellow travelers,
I stayed here for the Canton Fair in April of 2008.
Therefore, I will discribe it as a business trip in mind.
At this time, the hotel has 2 mini buses that will take you to the new and the old Canton Fair facility.
This hotel is closer to the new Pazhou complex. (10 mins.)
The route schedule was always on time. However, the mini bus will only fit +-20 passengers.
The hotels facilities are weak.
The lobby is the size of my garage.
The hotel's restaurant which is where we ate breakfast (included ) is located in the building next door on the 3rd floor.
The room is your typical type and it did the job.
There's really nothing you can do in this hotel but sleep until I called CBS guys, they help me to find what I exactly want.
I ventured out on foot every night to check out the locals.

It was my first time to guangzhou and I found there are Mandarin and Cantonese is spoke here, but few guys speak English. I stayed at Majestic Hotel that CBS recommend to me. Everything the same as they told me. It's a down town hotel with shopping center. The room is 4-star-standard. The restaraunt is ok. Only one shortage is hard to find a taxi because tooooo many persons there waiting for taxt. Anyway I probably will be back and stay here again since no better choice for down town and also near the fair.

We just walked up to the counter and there were rooms available.
On a weekday, we paid $45-$50 USD for a newly refurbished room on a newly refurbished floor. Had we choosen an older room, the rate would even be cheaper.
The room was very decent, and very modern. I especially liked the glass top computer table and the huge view windows overlooking the main street below. The bathroom was almost brand new and sparkling clean. The beds were very comfortable.
Also, at the bottom of the building, there was a 5 story shopping mall which was very convenient if some misc. /personal items were needed. We especially enjoyed dining at the Tawian BBQ/Firepot restaurant on the top floor (of the mall). Unfortunately none of the staff spoke English, but I managed to find one who spoke a little Cantonese so we got by (barely). It was amazing to find in Guangzhou that there were many people who didn't speak Cantonese particularly in the service sector. Communication could definitely hinder a business transaction.
That will be the hotel we will stay again on our next visit to Guangzhou. I can't think of any complaint against it except perhaps security could tighen a little, due to the shopping mall down below. Trespassers could easily intrude into the hotel without any difficulty.
