Good Hotel, good location directly oposite to the East Railway Station and Subway. Great for catching bullet train to Shenzhen. Got room upgrade after first night because of some problem with ceiling in room. Buffet breakfast was very good. Hotel good value for money.
I had a confirmed internet booking through CBS travel one month in advance of the autumn Canton Fair in October. In fact before arriving I called the hotel to make sure that my room was booked. Upon arrival I was told to sit down while they sorted out my room. After half an hour of waiting, I went up to the reception desk and was told that the hotel was overbooked and that there was no room for me tonight but the room will be available for the 2nd night of my stay. I had intended to quickly check in and go to the fair immediately and get registered etc.- so not only did I not get a room I had to waste 2.5 hrs more between waiting for the hotel to organise transportation to get the other hotel to check in. Hotels rates are scandulous during the fair season in Guangzhou and what must have happened was that my room was given to someone who walked in and paid a higher room rate. When I did check in for the next evening- the hotel sent my room some fruit and flowers for the inconvience. This type of dishonorable service makes this hotel unrealiable for business travellers attending the fair!
We booked two rooms for this hotel, as we were attending the Canton Fair ,and its close to the Pazhou complex.
After reading the other two reviews that are posted , I feel its important to give another opinion.
This is avery Chinese high- class hotel and as such it follows Chinese traditions. This is a good hotel.Within walking distance there is a large and vibrant typical Chinese neighbourhood, with many restaurants , shops and even a large Carrefour.( exit the hotel and walk to the right for about 6 minutes)
Its a 10 minute cab ride to the Metro station ,and it will cost you about 10 RMB for the ride there. A cab to the centre of the city runs about 50 RMB ,or less depending on traffic and a cab to the airport runs about 120-150 RMB depending on traffic.
All in all a positive hotel experience and very comfortable and secure.
i think it is a good hoteles it have a good restaurant and good place near marketes and super marketes but he didnt offer a computeres in the roomes and net connection it is a verey good thing in buisness today he offer free bus to the fair and a bus for the airport he have agood receiptient
Landmark has great restaurants on the 2nd floor and a great seafood restaurant around the corner across the Pearl River.
Beds are a little firm but great for sleeping if you're use to firm beds. Has a nice pool and massage spa.
We stayed at the Canton Landmark Hotel for 4 nights from March 18-22, 2008. As we had 6 people in our group, we booked 2 rooms on the "business floor" as this provided us with a larger room to put a cot into. Booking 2 rooms on the business floor was cheaper than booking 3 standard rooms. The room was very large with a sitting area, full washroom and 2 single beds and included a buffet breakfast and full use of the business center. The nice things about the hotel include the fact it is modern, English is spoken at the business center and at the front desk, the location is right on the Pearl River in the older part of the city, complementary breakfast and evening snacks at the business center, HSBC ATM in the lobby, travel agent next door, decent chinese food served in the restaurant on the 2nd floor (but expensive), the departure pier for the Pearl River cruise is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel, the view of the Pearl River at night is a highlight, Beijing Road and it's shopping is only a 15 minute walk. The not so nice things about the hotel (and Guangzhou) include the fact that smoking occurs everywhere (which is the case in all of Guangzhou), the prices in the hotel restaurants are expensive (for example, the price for the buffet breakfast was around 100 RMB. You can get a bowl of take out noodles with beef brisket around the corner from the hotel for 5 RMB), the air quality is very poor, it is chaos in front of the hotel because of the small area where taxi drop off and pick up passengers. We had dinner at a seafood restaurant just around the corner from the hotel directly across the street from the Pearl River- the food is excellant and seafood so fresh
The rooms were very comfortable and large. The food was excellent, but a little expensieve. Most of the staff could speak a little english, and the room-service was excellent. If you are getting a little sick of chinese food, there is a starbucks across the road, and many western restaurants, lots of italian reataurants, a latin, indonesian, indian, ect.
The location very convineant
the food is DELICIOUS, the ladies at the lift are sooooooooo nice, the pool is sooooooo nice, it's very comfortable, the TV's are nice, it has a good manager, the lobby is cool, the shops are cool, the bakery is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good,ect.ect.ect
Hello,
Well, this is one of Guangzhou's earlier hotels.
You will not have any problems with taxi drivers finding this location.
It's in the heart of the city and within short distant to & from wherever your going.
The location is very good, its next to the Pearl River.
You can take a short cruise along the river or you can take a nice stroll as well.
There are other shops & establishments around the hotel, just walk around and you'll find it very interesting.
We stopped in a local restaurant and had morning tea, Dimsum.
Food was awesome and it cost me & my wife $3. US of course.
Ok, about the hotel.
Its your standard hotel in China, (hard beds, smokey rooms, dark hallways just comes with the territory). Sometimes you can drop me off in another hotel and I wouldn't notice the difference.
I travel to Guangzhou quit frenqently and at times I just shop for the price and the location.
It has all your standard hotel stuff.
My room was rather small, it was a corner unit.
However, the view was very good especially at night.
I recommend this hotel for the individuals with Par expectations and just need a good place to stay with a good location.
Its not bad for $60 a night. A ok choice for the price.
Hotels in China @ the Middle range ($55- $75) are just ok. Nothing spectacular. In this range, just look for a good location, so your visiting parties can easily find you.
White Swan, Garden, China Hotel, DongFang are very recognizable names, So is Landmark. No Pun intended.
It was an okay hotel.
It doesn't measure up with 5 stars hotels in HongKong or other big cities, but it was clean and ok, and the staff was friendly and helpful.
The lobby is so big you almost feel in a factory hall.
The area is nice, with a shopping center just across the street.
It is easy to reach.
We were in Guangzhou for only three nights and this hotel was recommended by a family friend who live on Ersha Island, across from the hotel. This hotel is okay for the business traveler. Has a nice gym, outdoor and indoor pool. Massage and salon. Buffet breakfast with western and asian fares. The dim sum restaurant is good and staff were friendly and fast.
The rooms were a good size and have a nice view of the city, we were facing the river (asked for this view) otherwise you'll be looking at building on the other side. Bathrooms were average, but it was always clean. Slippers were provided, beds were okay for hotel standard.
The concierge was of no help, he didn't know the what time the gym cloese and told us 11 p.m. but we couldn't access the door to the gym after 9 p.m. Another time we asked the concierge (different people each time) to write down the place and address we want to go for the cab (see language confusion below), we didn't know what she wrote down, but we ended up not where we want to be and the cab driver refused to take us to our designation because we showed him what the concierge wrote.
There was major confusion with the language, we speak okay cantonese and Guangzhou is "Canton" so we thought we can get by without any problems, wrong!! Most hotel staff speaks Mandarin and we end up speaking English with a little cantonese.
This hotel is not close to anything exciting, you have to take a cab to go places. Cab rides are cheap. Make sure you grab a few cards to from the Concierge's desk before you leave, just give the cab driver the card so they can bring you back, because there is another Ramada in town. Public transportation was confusing and try not to take the older cabs because you'll be smelling the fumes from the exhaust.
Actually, you needs cards for any place you go, so write or have someone write down where you going with the address in chinese, if you know a landmark, that maybe best. Because if you don't speak their language, they drop you off anyplace. This is large (like LA) and you need to drive to go to most places.
Remember walk don't run across the street. Traffic is crazy, motorbikes, cars, cabs, and bikes everywhere.
I dont' know if I will go back to Guangzhou or this hotel.

The hotel, was a sight for sore eyes, pristine condition because it was new! The check in staff were very helpfull, bellboy was nice.
and they also had our friends hong kong visa letter, thank god as we were going to hong kong the next day!
room was spacious, with a nice table, a slouch chair, very new so very clean! from our room we could see through into the bathroom as it had a glass wall, thank god it had a curtain thing.
we decided to go in for a dip almost at night time, water was cold as you would expect at night time, swimming pool is a nice set up, an outdoor one. gym and games room is a good option to have.
Bathroom was really nice, seperate shower so you didnt have to stand in the bathsink to have a shower.
Nice little cafe and restaurant downstairs.
the hotel is built as two buildings then a bridge between them, you can go onto the top bridge/walkway and have a look at the city.
there is nothing wrong with the hotel apart from possibly the location, we didnt wander too much as it didnt seem that friendly to be our on these streets.
Rooms clean, flowers in it were beautiful, but I think liliaceous will be more preferable. The morning call service was rather good, so I havenę° missed the meeting
Very new and lovely hotel in the famous Tian He district. Rooms are neat and deliver a fresh feeling. Beds are simply tremendous, bathroom well disigned and amenities surprising for such a low rate. Adorable staff willing to help you anytime
This was one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed at or even seen for that matter. It was spotless with impeccable service. The room was large and very comfortable. The grounds are an added bonus - with a lake, statuarty,a huge swimming pool and a pleasant little lakeside restaurant - perfect for lunch.

Would highly recommend this hotel - a new hotel built only a couple of years ago. Staff excellent, courteous and very helpful. Wonderful suite room - fruit and bottled water provided every day. Amazing Egyptian style foyer - breakfast was excellent.
Would highly recommend!!!!!!
We decided to stay at this hotel during the Canton Fair. The hotel rooms are clean and well appointed. We decided that it would be nice to pay the upgrade for an Executive Suite. The suite itself was fine apart from the see through walls of the shower! why anyone wants to see those with whom you are sharing the room with whilst showering! ! Whatever floats your boat!
The grasp of English by the staff was pitifull.
We were led to believe that we would be entitled to club facilities. Apparently in china complementary cocktails have a totally different meaning to that in the west. The hotels definition was one coke or juice!
In summary, this hotel was a bit of a rip off during the fair. They quadrupled their room rate!
The Rats in the breakfast lounge were a little more than we could handle. When we pointed out that the rat was about the size of a small cat & asked what they were going to do about it simply met with a courteous smile!!!
